Making things happen

It has been a busy few days at the golf course. We are still slowing picking away at a green or two a day trying to remove all the snow from the surface. We have finished completely cleared all the greens without any tarps and have moved onto the greens that have our winter covers on them. A big thank you goes out to Todd Cox who has continued to spend everyday on the snowblower and shovel with me making sure we are as efficient as possible. These next few weeks will prove to be crucial, and I am happy to have the first wave of staff coming in on monday to speed up the process. I have found out that I am in not as good of shape as I would like to be in, and these last few weeks of hard work were probably the best thing for me.

Fighting the Snow

So today we made our way to 8 Lorette green to see if we could remove the snow from the tarp. Snowblowing our greens kind of reminds me of playing mindsweeper, as there are lots of hidden obsticles on the green such as tarp stakes, sandbags, landscape edging, and of course the tarp. When you hit any of these you usually don't know until its too late, and then you find yourself putting in new sheer bolts in the auger. Todd and myself worked all day on the green and had it pretty much clear by the end of the day. I think this brings our total to 13 cleared so only 27 to go. I really hope mother nature really starts to help us out here in the next few weeks and make the snow much more managable. On the plus side I think I have come up with a new diet, its called snowblow all day and eat whatever you want. I have lost over ten pounds in the last few weeks which is nice. Anyways I look forward to meeting some of you this week, and everyone else in the next few weeks.

Inaugural Post

Hey everyone how's it going? Welcome to our blog. I am going to try and update this as much as I can. This page is designed to keep our team informed as well as to let everyone know what is going on out on the course. I will be posting pictures and comments as we work towards getting the course open. That is me in the picture working my way slowly through some deep snow on a green. Right now we are in the process of carefully removing snow from greens covered with tarps to ensure we do not damage the covers. Hopefully we can get a little help from mother nature this week to reduce the amount of snow we need to remove.
